Overview of Disc Granulator Machine

The disc granulator is a fertilizer granulating equipment that specializes in producing spherical granules. Commonly used for particle processing of powder materials. The whole machine adopts a unique arc structure, and the granulating rate is as high as over 95%.

The disc granulator can not only be used to produce organic compound fertilizer granules, but also can be used to produce various spherical granules such as cat litter, laundry fragrance beads, and desiccants. Combined with other fertilizer equipment, it can form a complete granules granulation production line.

Working Process of Disc Granulator Machine

The working process of a disc granulator is a continuous, dynamic physical pelletizing process, which can be divided into the following stages:
 

Step 1: Feeding and Mixing: The powdered raw materials prepared according to the formula are continuously and evenly fed into an inclined disc. The material gathers at the bottom of the disc under gravity.

Step 2: Spraying and Nucleation: A suitable amount of liquid (such as water, binder, or molten liquid) is atomized and evenly sprayed onto the tumbling powder through a spray device installed above the disc. The powder particles begin to aggregate into tiny "mother spheres" (i.e., nucleation) under the binding effect of the liquid.
 

Step 3: Rolling and Compacting: As the disc continues to rotate, these tiny mother spheres roll along a complex trajectory within the disc under the combined action of centrifugal force, friction, and gravity. They continuously adhere to the surrounding powder, and through mutual compression and friction, the particles gradually grow larger, becoming denser and smoother.

Step 4: Grading and Discharge: When the granules grow to a certain size, their increased weight overcomes centrifugal force and rises to the edge of the pan, eventually overflowing the pan and completing the granulation process. Smaller granules remain at the bottom of the pan, continuing to grow under the influence of powder and liquid, achieving automatic grading and continuous discharge. 

Step 5: Subsequent Processing: The produced wet granules are conveyed to a dryer and cooler for further processing to remove moisture, increase strength, and ultimately obtain the finished fertilizer granules.
